you let me bring my own stand?
Yes, In fact we encourage it for archery
hunting.
- What is the nearest
airport?
Des Moines International and a small airport by Chariton,
IA.
- What about transportation
to and from the airport?
We recommend you rent a car to drive.
A SUV for late season hunts
is best.
- I am flying in but
can't get all my gear on the plane?
Send the extra gear to Hawkeye
Whitetails
by UPS ahead of time.
- Do I need to bring
my own linens?
No all you need are your personal toiletries.

the meat if I do not want it?
We have a program called HUSH which gives
the meat to the needy. http://www.iowadnr.com/other/hush/index.html

Yes orange is required for all gun hunts. You must have a solid orange
vest or jacket - a cap is
not enough.
- Why is it harder to
draw a bow tag than a gun tag?
At the current time there is a 35% cap
on all bow tags, in other
words out of 100 tags only 35 will be archery and 65 will be gun tags.
- What is a preference
point?
This is a point given to all hunters who are not drawn in the
lottery. This point will
help in the following years draw. Preference points can now be purchased.

Your deposit will keep your hunt locked in at the
original
price until you do draw a
tag.

- What do you guarantee?
Nothing - this is a fair chase hunt.
- How big are your
deer?
We have a lot of Pope and Young deer.
A 140" deer is not
uncommon
at all. So far the biggest
deer killed on our property is 182" net typical and a 207" net
non - typical.
Score does not make a trophy
in our opinion.
- How much do your deer
weigh?
A mature buck could weigh 300 pounds.
- Are there any minimums
or hidden fees?
Yes, 130 inches gross. There are
no trophy fees.
We do NOT recommend expandable broad heads
for archery hunting.
